Christine Armstrong

Community Organizer and Advocate | Career Coach | Systems Thinker | Arts Educator | Youth Worker | Volunteer

Summary

Everybody has a story to tell--stories that engage, inform, surprise, delight, and impact their audience. However these stories all build into the bigger picture that forms a community.

Anyone would be privileged to build upon those stories and bridge the divides. This is an opportunity to set the precedent for potential. As a Community Advocate, these themes of equity and community development have driven my career. Throughout my career, I have consistently exceeded the goals set before me by utilizing a creative, detail oriented and systems thinking mindset. A desire to learn and serve has led to a highly specialized skill set in multiple arenas:

  • Youth Development where I'm able to mentor at-risk youth through program management, poverty alleviation and community engagement
  • Workforce development where I'm able to empower and coach underserved populations through skill based training
  • Arts education where I'm able to utilize the arts as a vehicle for change across sectors.

The multi-discplinary approach that I have adopted has manifested in a wide variety of specialties including assessments, case management, outreach, program development, and strategic partnerships. Given my areas of expertise, I can contribute to most any field and surpass all expectations.

Presently, I am a Career Navigator at an innovative career center in the heart of Boston. In this position, my time is spent building relationships between colleagues, clients, and community partners alike. My role shifts socioeconomic status, given that I invest in training low income Boston residents and dislocated workers.

I'm always interested in conversations centered around empowering underserved populations through community organizing, workforce development, youth development, and the arts. I'm also delighted to be a community resource. Let's stay on the forefront of social change and continue this conversation; email me at ms.christinearmstrong@gmail.com
