Christian Lovera brings more than 15 years of investment and securities industry experience to his role as a financial services executive. Holding a Bachelor’s degree from Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, where he majored in Economics and Finance, he accepted a position in Miami as a Financial Advisor with financial management and advisory firm Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Inc. after his graduation in 1997. Christian Lovera served in this role for eight years, working in the firm's International Private Client Group. During this time, he completed extensive private banking and wealth management training, applying this knowledge to the management of a $35 million client base. In 2005, Christian Lovera joined the financial firm of BancTrust & Company (BT). As the Vice President of the firm's Capital Markets Division, he holds responsibility for the company's business strategy and key transactions for major clients. During his time with the firm, Mr. Lovera has traded and restructured over $7 billion in illiquid securities for a variety of institutional clients. He has also led negotiations for corporate and government entities and advises a $2 billion liability management mandate for the government of Venezuela. Additionally, Christian Lovera has structured and traded numerous distressed securities and managed many complex and time-sensitive trades and transactions. Mr. Lovera founded BT Energies and Commodities and spearheaded the creation of the $350 million Zumaque Fund, a fund focused in project finance facilities. He continues to lead BT in providing clients with professional asset management services and global market investment opportunities.
