With over a decade of experience, Christian B. Sullivan, investor and owner of UNIS Global Energy Fund, has a solid history of prudent investments in budding young companies, many of which have thrived. UNIS Global Energy Fund, the result of Mr. Sullivan’s interest in issues surrounding energy, has grown 40% since its inception in July 2010. Christian B. Sullivan runs the day-to-day operations as Managing Partner while a childhood friend acts as Portfolio Manager. Working to build a strong track record before allowing public investment, Sullivan is currently the sole investor in the fund.
Christian B. Sullivan attended Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Two years after completing his BA, Mr. Sullivan worked in Valuations and Appraisal at KPMG LLP, an American audit, tax, and advisory services firm, where he evaluated privately owned companies to determine their value for taxing purposes, using the techniques of asset-based value, relative value, and discounted cash flow value. Early in his career as a private investor, Christian B. Sullivan backed London-based Moonpig.com, maker of custom greeting cards. The company has since expanded its operations to the United States and Australia. Sullivan also invested in popular New York blogging website CapitalNewYork.com, Open Road Media, and Green Energy Options Ltd., an energy company based in England that sells thermostats, solar power management systems, and other devices to conserve and monitor energy.
A frequent traveler, Christian B. Sullivan’s work took him to Russia, where he was associated with an aircraft leasing company from 1994 to 1996. He then worked in various capacities in banking, eventually becoming Financial Services Managing Director of Deutsche Bank. As head of EMEA (Emerging Markets Europe Africa) Sales Trading, Sullivan traveled internationally to manage 30 brokers in Moscow, Cape Town, Warsaw, London, Turkey, and other locations, developing relationships and providing finance services. Mr. Sullivan manages a real estate investment holding in Poland and travels to the country once a month. He also maintains business connections in Verbier.
Christian B. Sullivan’s philanthropic involvement extends from his New York community to international causes. He supports Remind.org, a subsidiary of the Bob Woodruff Foundation to honor military veterans; Futures and Options, which introduces students to financial aid options; and Food Bank for New York City. He is also an Angel Investor through Golden Seeds, an organization that supports female-run businesses.
