As the director of threat intelligence, I’m responsible for managing a team that is tasked to investigate targeted attacks, gather strategic intelligence and apply to existing or develop new technology/methods to detect lateral movement, targeted attacks or improve malware classification. As one of the Co-designer of UI/Threat-priority model for a new product – we won the Intel innovations award 2015 and the Intel’s public’s choice award 2015 as a team for this product. Besides these responsibilities, I’m also coordinating the advanced research and assistance in take-down operations where we work in cooperation with global Law Enforcement. One of the highlights so far in this job was to teach a part of a master-class at Oregon State University around malware analysis and incident response. When I started, my team consisted of 6 people, currently managing a team of 9 directs and a total of 25 people that are responsible from the first response to the customer towards the advanced analysis and correlation with tactical and strategic threat intelligence.
