Christen Dorsa earned a degree in Business Administration from Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Combining her work experience with her formal training, Christen Dorsa brings a useful set of skills to her current work as an Intern for the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots in New Orleans. In this role, she assists with the development and planning for the location’s promotions and events including the Street Fare Derby, Starlight Racing, and the Wine Tastings at the Track. Additionally, she develops business relationships with wholesalers and works with the buying and ordering process at the track. Among her achievements in this role is the corporate convention plan she designed to increase the Fair Ground’s awareness in the tourism industry and increase revenue. Before accepting her current role, Christen Dorsa served as an Intern for Van Eaton & Romero in Lafayette, Louisiana. She designed a radio advertisement campaign and oversaw the firm’s large fundraiser. Using her skills as a project manager, Dorsa successfully coordinated and implemented the fundraiser, which won an award for Van Eaton & Romero. Prior to that, she worked for Metro Animal Shelter in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where she exercised the shelter animals and assisted the staff with other aspects of animal care. Dorsa began her professional experience as a Volunteer with Saddle Up where she cared for horses, managed summer camps, and taught children how to ride horses. In addition to her business administration degree, Christen Dorsa has completed international coursework. She studied abroad in Brussels, Dublin, and London where she studied international business law and European economics.
