My role as Manager of Communications and Media Channels at the AICPA includes both strategic and tactical communication responsibilities, focused on internal communications. The key performance objective of this position is to simultaneously manage and coordinate a number of complex internal communications projects within fast-paced, stringent timelines, including the articulation of strategic objectives and goals, delivering top notch communications to meet those goals, utilizing multi-faceted communications methods and collaborating with many teams throughout the Institute. I am responsible for writing internal communications for the CEO and other senior leaders; developing, implementing, managing and driving Institute-wide internal communications for the purpose of building and strengthening our culture and brand and driving team member engagement and performance; and creating and implementing internal communication strategies through the management and execution of a variety of communications vehicles, including the intranet, monthly newsletters, weekly emails, and video.

  • Reinforce and drive key business messages throughout the organization to increase understanding of our objectives and enable team members at all levels to deliver results.
  • Reinforce and drive key culture and brand messages in every communication, establishing clear linkages with what we do, why we do it and why it matters.
  • Create all relevant and timely company-wide communications materials including memos, monthly team member newsletter, announcements, event-specific communication plans, intranet updates, and others.
  • Develop and implement metrics to assess the effectiveness and business impact of our internal communications program and tools. Recommend and execute improvements utilizing existing and emerging technologies.
  • Establish and utilize a two-way communications and feedback system for team members at all levels.
  • Provide council to senior leadership and other business partners on internal communications. Work closely with external communications to ensure internal/external communications are consistent and linked.
  • Manage and maintain the Hub and other existing and future communication tools.
  • Keep abreast of current and future trends and methodologies to improve overall effectiveness and cost effectiveness of internal communications activities.

Internal Communications Specialist

  • Write, edit, publish and maintain select content for the organization's intranet and three internal e-newsletters with the goal of educating and engaging employees and other stakeholders.
  • Act as communications liaison with Human Resources, Information Technology, Member Value, Strategy and other relevant functions to ensure the development of the infrastructure and resources needed for internal communications.
  • Oversee large-scale communication initiatives, including the implementation and evolution of the organization's news and information Hub into a platform for AICPA leadership to present the organization’s mission, values and goals to all employees.
