Chris Megison is the President and Executive Director of North County Solutions for Change. North County Solutions for Change is a non-profit entity that works assiduously to resolve the issue of family homelessness for kids and communities. From his offices in Vista, California, Chris Megison interacts with the region’s top leaders, establishing a consensus around the issue of family homelessness and the best way to solve that problem. These conversations often turn into a discussion of how individual communities approach and handle homelessness locally. In this way, Mr. Megison is a social entrepreneur that seeks to find effective solutions that will end family homelessness. Over the years, Chris Megison has learned the best ways to launch an effective social reengineering program that is scalable to multiple communities. By engaging strategic partners and devising a commonly accepted model to solve homelessness for kids and communities, Mr. Megison advances his cause while educating people in positions of leadership about their options. Chris Megison designed and developed an innovative way of approaching family homelessness through his Solutions University model. This initiative led to the acquisition and construction of 40,000 sq. ft. of real estate at 3 separate locations. In turn, these facilities became homes and centers for more than 540 families to go on to end their homelessness, permaently. Chris Megison spent 10 years in the United States Marine Corps and, upon his discharge, took a position establishing small social purpose enterprises. These businesses dealt primarily with the issue of homelessness among men with addiction. Mr. Megison established Solutions for Change in 1999 and, five years later, received Congressional recognition from Congressman Darrell Issa for his efforts to solve family homelessness.
