Emergency Room Attending Physician

TeamHealth Southeast

University of Alabama

Dr. Chris Endfinger, a TeamHealth Southeast physician, practices in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Endfinger, board certified in family practice, also holds certifications in Advanced Life Support, including Cardiovascular, Pediatric, and Trauma Life Support. Dr. Endfinger’s current position as an Emergency Room Attending Physician continues a medical career that began nearly two decades ago. After graduation with a B.A. in Biochemistry from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, Chris Endfinger enrolled in medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Named Chief Resident in 1996, he remained in Birmingham to complete his family practice residency. Upon fulfilling his medical residency requirements, Dr. Endfinger worked in various emergency departments as an Attending Physician. From 2004 to 2007, he served as Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. A 2006 episode of the television show, “Untold Stories of the ER,” filmed Dr. Endfinger at Gadsden as he treated a bride on her wedding day; the bride and groom were subsequently married in the Emergency Room. A devout Christian, Dr. Chris Endfinger supports several causes. His support of Fight 4Life Fitness & Boxing Ministry came about through his association with the founder, Greg Young, a fellow church member. Mr. Young, a former champion boxer, established Fight 4Life in 1999. Fight 4Life assists underserved, at-risk youth by teaching life skills such as confidence, discipline, and anger management through mentoring and tutoring sessions, physical fitness programs, and fellowship activities. Dr. Endfinger has also traveled to Honduras on mission trips with his church to provide medical care. In addition, he has contributed to Compassion International, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending child poverty worldwide. When he is not busy as an ER physician, Dr. Chris Endfinger likes to spend time with his wife of 19 years and their 2 children, watching movies or going to the children’s sports events. The doctor also brushes up on his French and Spanish skills and enjoys playing guitar in his free time.
