An alumnus of Tufts University, Chris Bortz earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Drama from the Medford, Massachusetts institution in 1996. After pursuing a career in teaching for three years, Chris Bortz chose to continue his education at The University of Arizona in Tucson. Subsequent to receiving his Juris Doctor from the James E. Rogers College of Law, he was invited to serve as Dean of Faculty for Breakthrough Cincinnati, where he remains active as a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Bortz also donates his time and efforts as a member of the Board of Trustees for his alma mater, Cincinnati Country Day School, and as a board member with the Jewish Community Relations Council.Mr. Bortz changed careers in 2002 when he joined his family's business, Towne Properties as an Assistant Project Manager. In this position, he helped oversee several projects and cases involving real estate management. Using his formal background in law, Chris Bortz currently operates as Special Projects Director and General Counsel.In addition to his career in real estate management, Chris Bortz serves the community as a member of the Cincinnati City Council. First elected in November 2005, Mr. Bortz has held the position every year since. He contributes to a variety of organizations and committees dedicated to city governance; his focus emphasizes city growth, job stimulation, and residents’ quality of life.
