Research Assistant

Arizona State University

Worked in an Agile environment developing a project which targeted Sickle Cell and Epilepsy disease patients. The aim of the project was to enhance the quality of medical care the patients received. To achieve this I collaborated with the team to :

  • Develop a pain reporting hybrid mobile application that helps the patient to report their pain without having to personally attend the clinic.
  • Develop a pain reporting portal which helps the clinicians manage and analyze the patients enrolled.
  • Design and implement a RESTful API which will govern the entire project.

National Science Foundation

Tutored for National Science Foundation as a Mobile Health Group’s Mentor for a summer camp hosted in Arizona State University. My duties were to teach the students about :

  • Agile methodologies and how to use agile software process in developing an application.
  • Version control systems and how Github can be used to share code between teams and how a team can work on a task simultaneously.
  • Concepts of Android application developments and how to troubleshoot errors when working with Android.

Academic Projects


SCD (AngularJS, Android, IOS)

  • As Research Assistant, I implemented an online pain reporting application in  AngularJS and integrated that with Android and IOS application.
  • This context-aware & API Driven application has functionalities like – Daily – weekly surveys for patients so they do not have to visit doctors every time, daily badges and power ups for the games as they take surveys and earn them, delivers periodic notifications for pending and incomplete surveys, saves the state of half-filled survey

SCD-API (Java Jersey)

  • Worked with a team to design and develop an API for SCD application that governs the application. The API was developed in Java's Jersey framework and it followed the guidelines for a RESTful web service. 


  • Key contributor in developing and designing a portal for clinicians to view patient's progress. The portal was developed in Node JS (Hapi) and it had enhanced visual mediums to help analyze the data.

PYC (Java Antlr , Python)

  • During my Masters course, Languages and Programming Paradigms, using Python and C as base, I created my own high level programming language.  The project used Java (Antlr) and Python for the language development.


  • Served as an Android developer along with a team to built a Context-Aware Android application which acts as security asset for the smart phone to protect System and user applications.


  • Currently, building a web based application which aims at making people around the world aware about climate change.
  • The project has 6 different types of visualizations built using D3JS and Tableau. Data is obtained from open source databases like – 'Openweathermap' & 'World Bank Open Data'.
