David A. Rubenstein

Dr. Rubenstein was the co-adviser of my master thesis and I also attended his Biomaterial class. As a role of co-adviser, he was very helpful and willing to share his valuable opinions with me on my thesis. His class was interesting, and he always explain thing in easier way. I had a chance to work with him more often when I worked full time in the lab by helping him to run experiments to study the treated platelet aggregation with different agonists. I was able to learn valuable experiment techniques and experiment’s schedule planning from him.

Wei Yin

Dr. Yin has been my academic adviser for my master course. She taught me a lot, not only for my thesis but also the problem I had for life. She is the one who brought me in to the field of Biomedical Engineering. I have no idea Mechanical Engineering has such a big connection to Biomedical before I met her. "Do not limit your imagination", the first thing she taught me when she explain how Mechanical Engineering can apply on Biomeical. After I done for my master course, She offer me a position in the lab as a Research Scholar when I told her I wanted to learn more experimental equipment and skills before I start my career in industry. 


  • 1 year experience in contract manufacturing, provide support to production, apply lean manufacturing to eliminate waste, and improve efficiency in manufacturing environment. 
  • 3 years of research experience engaging 3D-CAD modeling and CFD analyzing technique. Modeled, simulated and analyzed the hemodynamic performance of fluid impact on mechanical heart valves inside a 3D geometry of flow device.
  • 2 years experience in in vitro experimental devices design, testing, material selection, cost estimation and fabrication. 
  • 2 years research experience in biomedical engineering lab. Emphasis in analyze blood cells activity, measure blood cells proteins level release and biocompatibility test on novel materials. 
  • Experienced in basic wet lab techniques: Flow Cytometry, Cell Culture and Tissue Culture, RT-PCR, ELISA, SELDI, Aggregometer
  • Technically proficient in Pro E, Solid Works, AutoCAD, ANSYS, Matlab, VBA and Microsoft Office
