Prior to building a stellar career at the executive level, Cheryl Hoffman-Bray earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the State University of New York at Albany. She gained initial corporate experience as a Certified Public Accountant with Coopers and Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) in Albany, New York. Cheryl Hoffman-Bray subsequently spent 10 years with Albany Memorial Health Systems, Inc., in a variety of executive capacities, including Vice President, Finance, and Chief Financial Officer. Cheryl Hoffman’s strategic planning focus helped improve the company’s operating margin for a three-year period. She notably arranged $27 million in complex financing and spearheaded a Continuous Quality Improvement program.At present, Cheryl Hoffman-Bray is the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC), a position she has held since 2006. In this capacity, she helps guide a firm based in Waltham, Massachusetts, which spearheads global efforts in healthcare, advanced learning, and economic opportunity. Cheryl Hoffman oversees financial aspects of the non-profit 501(c)(3) organization’s full range of programs based both in the U.S. and internationally and manages central business administration. She has notably enhanced EDC cash management and financial reporting functions and has ensured transparency and regulatory compliance through an internal audit program.From 2000 to 2006, Cheryl Hoffman held executive responsibilities with Harvard University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences. For four years, she served as Chief Financial Officer and Dean of Finance, which entailed financial oversight of an $800 million budget spanning more than 90 departments and affiliates. She completed her time at Harvard University as Senior Advisor to the Executive Dean. In her free time, Cheryl Hoffman-Bray enjoys outdoor activities such as gardening and playing golf.
