  • Study Abroad in Oaxaca Mexico to study Courtyard Architecture (2004)


  • Finalist for the Henry L. Kamphoefner Honor Fellowship (2004)


  • Inducted into TAU SIGMA DELTA, the Honor Society for Architecture and Allied Arts (2004)


  • Co-Founded the Lumbee Home Initiative Project which created a working relationship between the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina and the North Carolina State University Community Outreach Program to provide assistance in developing new home designs for the Lumbee People (2004)


  • Community Design Studio and Design/ Build Studio in the Town of Seaboard, NC.  This effort produced several design projects and the opening of a new Rural Health Clinic in the town (2003)


  • 2nd place - Precast Concrete Design Competition Award presented by Georgia/Carolinas Precast and the Prestressed Concrete Institute (2002)


  • Selected to a small student team tasked to design and build a Traveling Exhibit of the North Carolina Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for the National AIA Convention (2002) entitled "The Nature of Architecture"


  • Recipient of the David Allen Company Dean's Scholarship (2002)


SELECTED PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS


  • Founding member of seaboardROAD (Revitalization and Opportunity through Applied Design).  Our team was awarded a grant by the National Endowment of the Arts.  These funds were used to complete the design and construction documents for the team members individual projects for the town of Seaboard, NC.


  • Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects


  • Completed NCARB's Intern Development Program and I am ready to sit for the ARE


  • Completed a Continuing Education Course on Green Building Design


  • Former Chair of the Bedford at Falls River Architecture Review Board (an award winning community of 1,700 homes located in Raleigh, NC).


  • Former member of the Raleigh Citizen  Advisory Council


  • AIA Triangle Section Award of Merit for the Robeson County Department of Social Services Project


  • Pro Bono Work on JT's Camp Grom, a project by The Virginia Gentlemen Foundation, that will be a one-of-a-kind adventure camp for wounded warriors, families of the fallen and children with disabilities.


  • Volunteer work with local elementary schools in Robeson County, NC for career days and job shadowing opportunities for students interested in Architecture
