  • Launched localized e-commerce platform (“Converge”), white labeled for each client account, to facilitate online customization and ordering of products and integrating with client ERP systems.

  • Managed the international growth of HSWI’s core products (based on the localization of Discovery Communications’ www.howstuffworks.com) into the emerging China (www.bowenwang.com.cn) and Brazil (www.hsw.com.br) markets, directing teams of 35+ employees in four geographically disparate locations across three continents, and holding direct P&L responsibility for entire China organization and US Product Development operation.
  • Assumed President role in China, leading team in localization and translation of over 4 million words (9,000+ articles), authoring 4,000+ new market-specific stories, and launching on time and under budget.  Drove operational and logistical efforts, including: recruiting of primary production, editorial, and sales/BD staff of over 25 employees; office selection and infrastructure buildout; website development and launch; brand and marketing strategy; business development and sales; and post-launch growth roadmap.
  • Through an aggressive, comprehensive traffic-growth campaign focused on social media, SEO, and grass-roots marketing, increased overall PV growth by nearly 400% during 2009 and by over 200% YTD in 2010, while maintaining outstanding user engagement metrics of over 12 PVs/UV and a time-on-site of nearly 8 minutes.
  • Drove business development efforts with key partners in China market, including Taobao, Sina, Netease, Google, Youkou, MSN and Yahoo, among others.  Secured content licensing partnerships with leading offline publishers, including Michelin, Reader’s Digest, Sanlian (“LifeWeek”) magazine, The Beijing News, Wall Street Journal China, The Economic Observer, Xinmin Weekly, Hangzhou Magazine, and Science & Vie magazine.
  • With Brazil market launch in 2007, oversaw translation of more than 1.5 million words of content, development of new, market-specific content, design/architecture localization, technical development, infrastructure build out and installation, product QA and acceptance.  Site saw organic traffic growth of over 600% within 10 day period due to highly SEO-optimized content strategy.
  • Led development of strategic global product initiatives, including:  quiz platform that leveraged existing content investment, while driving traffic growth; video platform with innovative subtitling system to allow for multi-language support (and search engine optimization) while limiting capital costs for further localization.

  • Drove design, development, and launch of 15 Health Session mini-sites, strategically created to serve as effective destinations for high-value Google keyword purchases.

  • Executed intense traffic-expansion campaign, making use of online promotion, community building, and focused content integration. Efforts resulted in a 77% increase in overall page views during first month's efforts and a 165% growth during month two.
  • As account lead for interactive agency of record, planned, coordinated and executed the creative design and production of Activision, Inc.'s online marketing, including a complete ground-up redesign of flagship site Activision.com, and more than 15 marketing websites for their most successful products. (This role was at interactive agency LightSpeed Media, which was acquired by AOL).
