Charles Phillips is Chief Executive Officer of Infor, the third largest business software company in the world. Infor has 13,000 employees in 164 countries with $3 billion in revenue and 70,000 customers and is headquartered in Silicon Alley in New York City. Prior to Infor, Phillips was President of Oracle Corporation and a member of its Board of Directors. During his seven and a half year tenure, the company tripled in size and successfully acquired 70 companies.

Prior to Oracle, Phillips was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley in the Technology Group and served on its Board of Directors. At Morgan he was selected as an Institutional Investor All-Star for ten consecutive years.Before his 18-year career on Wall Street, Phillips was a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps in the 2nd Battalion, 10th Marines. Phillips holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the U.S. Air Force Academy, a JD from New York Law School, and an MBA from Hampton University and is a member of the Georgia State Bar Association.Phillips serves on the Boards of Viacom Corporation, Jazz at Lincoln Center, New York Law School, the American Museum of Natural History, the United States Air Force Academy Endowment Fund, The New York Historical Society, and Phillips Charitable Organizations.

Phillips also served on the Obama Administration's Economic Recovery Board, led by Paul Volcker. Savoy Magazine and Black Enterprise Magazine selected Phillip as one of the 100 most influential blacks in business.

Charitable Activities

In 2011, Phillips combined several of his charities into Phillips Charitable Organization (PCO), a non-profit foundation for which he serves as CEO of Information. PCO’s stated mission is to support a diverse group of charities, focusing on aiding single parents, at-risk students and military veterans.


Commanding two decades of experience as a software industry leader, Charles Phillips spearheads Infor as its Chief Executive Officer. Appointed CEO of the enterprise software company in 2010, Charles Phillips oversees 13,000 employees, who are located in 164 countries, and who serve 70,000 customers. 

Prior to his work at Infor, Charles Phillips spent over seven years as President and a member of the Board of Directors for Oracle Corporation. In this capacity, Mr. Phillips participated in a number of acquisitions and helped to substantially grow the company, which tripled in size over the course of his tenure.

Charles Phillips joined Oracle by way of Morgan Stanley, where he served as a Managing Director in the Technology Group. Recognized for his business acumen early in his career, he was named an Institutional Investor All-Star at Morgan Stanley for ten consecutive years.

A former Captain in the United States Marine Corps, 2nd Battalion, 10th Marines, Mr. Phillips now assists military veterans through his philanthropic foundation, the Phillips Charitable Organization. A merger of several of his charitable interests, the organization also offers aid to underserved engineering students and single-parent families.

Charles Phillips earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the United States Air Force Academy, a Juris Doctor from New York Law School, and a Master of Business Administration from Hampton University. He maintains ties to his alma maters by serving on the United States Air Force Academy Endowment Fund and the Board of New York Law School.

Mr. Phillips also actively participates on the Boards of Directors for Jazz at Lincoln Center, The New-York Historical Society, the American Museum of Natural History, and Viacom Corporation. Renowned for his accomplishments, he has been named one of Savoy Magazine’s “Top 100 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America.”
