Charles E Scroggs Texas
Charles E. Scroggs, a Rockwall, Texas resident, currently serves as the president of Southwest Scaffolding, LLC, the second largest scaffolding product distributor in the state. Active within the professional community, Charles “Chuck” E. Scroggs maintains membership of several professional organizations, including the Mason Contractors Association of America. The Mason Contractors Association of America (MCAA) was founding in 1950 with the purpose of training, educating, and representing mason contractors. Offering a variety of programs, the MCAA promotes safe work environments, markets masonry material benefits, recruits future mason contractors, and advocates fair standards and codes. Recently, the MCAA released an update on the association’s recent successes and plans for 2014. After another productive year of advocacy in Washington, DC, the MCAA has new plans for holding the government accountable for excessive regulation. The association successfully promoted the Concrete Masonry Products Research, Education, and Promotion Act, which it will continue pushing in 2014. According to the report, one of the biggest issues that the MCAA will face this year is a new rule that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration will be pursuing. This rule will decrease the amount of crystalline that silica workers are allowed to be exposed to. The MCAA reports that the rule, as it is currently written, will drastically affect the masonry industry, and the association intends to testify against the rule in its current form.
