Miami, Florida, resident Chand Sayed was born and educated in India. She went to school in the city of Mumbai (formerly Bombay), one of the most remarkable cities of the Indian subcontinent. Mumbai is the most populous city in India and the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra. Chand Sayed studied at the University of Bombay where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 1979. After finishing her undergraduate degree, Chand Sayed moved to the United States and eventually settled in the Miami area. Chand Sayed maintains her fitness and health through a regular practice of yoga, and enjoys spending time with her family and training a puppy she recently acquired.
Chand Sayed enjoys reading novels, particularly mysteries known for their wit and cleverness. Her favorite authors include Agatha Christie, Dan Brown, and Erle Stanley Gardner. Chand Sayed is also fond of British humorist Oscar Wilde, and counts some of his witticisms among her favorite sayings, such as, “I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.”
