As the Chief System Engineer of FutureDrones (Pvt) Ltd, I contribute my knowledge and expertise on multiple drone developments including hardware and software system developments, manufacturing process planning etc. The company was started after continuous research and development of Drones in University from 2012 and I'm involving since 2013. Ceyhawk UAV is one of the best drones in the company and it has manufactured using carbon fiber composites.
I researched Statistical modeling and path following optimization of RAVAN (Robotic Aerial Vehicle with Autonomous Navigation ) UAV for Master of Science degree
During my university graduation, I could lead RAVAN UAV development which was the first ever successful medium scale UAV in Srilanka. I have sound knowledge with experience in Robotics and automation, Electronic system design including circuit design and PCB design, Firmware development using C, C++ languages image processing with MATLAB and OpenCV, Composite manufacturing, Mold design, CNC machines, Solidworks etc.
Robotics and Automation, Application specific UAV modeling and design, Biomedical Engineering are my research interests.
I have appointed as Chief Engineer of FutureDrones where Job include Architectural planning of Unmanned Aerial Systems including autopilot electronics and software systems design , and system integration , Continuous development and augmentation of UAV systems and adaptation and tuning
Currently I'm working as the team director of the FutureDrones company (The first Spin-off company from University of Moratuwa ) where I do team Leading, project managing, system designing and integration, Manufacturing process development. The company has completed Ceyhawk medium scale composite electric and gasoline drone and Ceymapper and Ceybee GIS mapping drone. VTOL(Vertical Takeoff and Landing ) drone development for the blood sample and Logistic transportation, Agriculture spraying drones are some of the ongoing projects.
I have been appointed as Research Assistant under the project titled " Unmanned Aerial Vehicle with Real time Aerial Surveillance and telemetry" for developing first medium scale UAV for surveillance in Sri Lanka
I have been appointed as system architect for implementing of Tuna fish grading probe based on image processing .
During the six month industrial training I had experienced with PUMA 562 robotic manipulator human machine Interface design. Dspic based closed loop circuit design and firmware development with MPLAB C30 , Robot arm modeling , controlling With Matlab are the some of experienced I gathered during the period . During the period I worked with FPGA based Tea color sorting machine and we used altera spartan 6 FPGA with line camera for image processing .

Headrest with spring-loaded window breaking system and emergency self-inflatable lifesaving buoy
The innovation is directed to a multipurpose headrest with a spring-loaded window breaking system for quick and easy window glass breaking in an emergency. Headrest consists lifesaving buoy to assist escaped people to survive in a drawing situation. Therefore, this innovation is much related to the field of human safety.

Identifying the cruising dynamics of a medium scale UAV I: Longitudinal dynamics
Abstract: Pitch and airspeed responses of a medium scale UAV were identified using the prediction error method. Data collection was conducted with an active closed loop autopilot control system. A naive SISO open loop transfer function was estimated using the parametric direct approach. Since its predictability was not significant, better estimators were developed using MISO parametric direct, and SISO parametric indirect method. The model validations were done to quantify their predictability.
