Driver (CDL Hazmat) fuel delivery

Webbs Oil Corp

Responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of diesel fuel to contractors and home heating oil customers along with delivery of diesel fuel and gasoline to convenience stores for resale. It was my responsibility to be sure that my delivery vessel was in top working order and clean. Appearance was important to the company. Having a clean delivery vehicle also made it easier to perform pre-trip inspections that insured that the vehicle was safe to operate. Money was collected from some of the clients. The loading tickets and money were released to the dispatcher for accurate record keeping and processing.

Manager

Martin Oil Co Inc.
To manage the daily activities of a four-bay automotive repair facility, a home heating oil delivery operation, and a mini storage facility. Was responsible for the safe and timely delivery of home heating/diesel fuel to customers both commercial and residential. Keeping accurate logs and reports of the fuel that came in or out of the facility and reporting any discrepencies appropriately. The repair facility was fully functional and could perform any request from a tire repair, removal and installation of engine/transmission, to complete and custom exhaust repair/installation. Keeping track of inventory for both aspects of the business was also my duty as well as insuring that the facility was within state and federal regulation. Scheduling for both the heating oil and repair facility was tough. Sometimes I had to perform repairs or deliver fuel when we were really busy. The duties of the mini-storage facility included the assigning, cleaning, collecting payment, and maintenance of the units and facility as a whole. Advertising for all three flavors of business was my responsibility and was very successful doing the advertising as I built the client database more than 200% in the first 6 or 7 years, and about 300% by my departing the company, while other repair facilities in the area were failing. The business is sadly no longer in operation. It went out of business about two years from my leaving. I pride myself for the hard work applied to make Martin Oil Co thrive in those hard times.

Associates

SKYLINE COLLEGE (formally ECPI TECHNICAL COLLEGE)
While working a second shift job, I attended College. Not an easy task to say the least. I chose an accelerated course and that meant that if you blinked, you got behind and would never catch up. I had decided that if I wanted more out of my life than what I currently had, school was the answer. I have always loved electronics and computers. A degree in networking is just what I needed to seek employment in a field that I would enjoy. After all, it is not "work" if you enjoy doing it right? After 18 long months I earned my degree with a handsome GPA to go with it. Seems that those nights going to bed at 4 am doing homework paid off. I may go back to get my Bachelors at some point but want to get in the field and work a while first.
