Administrative/Arraignment Court Clerk
  • Initial Appearances- Clerk all criminal traffic, OWI, and civil forfeiture Initial Appearance court sessions, both in and out of custody. Generate bond forms, issue warrants for nonappearance, and schedule next court appearance.
  • Misc. Clerking- Clerk all Drug Court review hearings. Clerk commissioner level drug-related preliminary hearings, including swearing in witnesses and marking/receiving exhibits. Act as roving clerk for 17 circuit court judges handling all case types. Act as primary backup for jury clerk.
  • Small Claims Judgments- Review all small claims cases for completeness. Calculate and enter default judgments and enter judgments after hearings. Clerk small claims trials and contempt hearings held in the circuit court branches.
  • Maintain Calendars- Prepare weekly scheduling calendars for initial appearances. Create appropriate auto-scheduling time blocks in CCAP computer system. Coordinate master scheduling of pre-trials with District Attorney’s office, and coordinate upcoming scheduling of preliminary hearings with branch staff.

Clerk Typist III (Commissioner Center)
  • Front Desk- Family Court Commissioner Center front desk. Check in customers for hearings, answer questions regarding family and paternity case types, schedule hearings, and take in legal documents for filing.
  • Transcription- Accurately transcribe legal orders, correspondence, etc. as dictated by nine Family Court Commissioners.
  • Income Withholding- Input income withholdings for child support, spousal support, etc. into KIDS state computer system.
  • Drafting- Draft legal orders in Microsoft Word on behalf of Family Court Commissioners including referrals to Family Court Counseling Service and Bench Warrant & Commitment Orders.

Clerk Typist III (Records Center)
  • Records Center- Complete background searches and copy requests for agencies and the public. Prepare invoices and charge Quarterly Bill Accounts.. Maintain all Criminal Traffic, Traffic, and Forfeiture Ordinance case files. Certify and exemplify documents as Deputy Clerk and Deputy Register in Probate.
  • Probate- Open, close and maintain guardianship cases in CCAP. Docket  all incoming guardianship paperwork and mail/fax notices to parties. Act as primary backup for Ch. 51 Civil Commitments and Adoptions. Schedule hearings/jury trials, assign attorneys, prepare orders, open/close cases, etc. Maintain close working relationship with related agencies. 
  • Mail Room- Sort, open and distribute mail to the Admin Office, branches, and other departments. Return conformed/authenticated legal documents as requested.
  • Records Counter- Assist customers with viewing and obtaining copies from case files, microfilm and microfiche. Provide accurate information regarding document retention and case status. Complete copy requests at counter.

  • Staffing and Supervision- Maintain volunteer calendar for Mounds Sun Prairie satellite adoption center. Ensure that volunteer shifts are staffed, and find replacement volunteers for open shifts. Address volunteer concerns and suggestions, and handle issues with volunteer attendance and performance.
  •  Training- Train new volunteers on duties required at Mounds SP. Recommend or decline new volunteers based on performance during training.
  • Counseling- Screen potential adopters and match them to adoptable animals.  Perform cat adoption counseling at Mounds SP including answering care inquiries, collecting adoption fees, and processing completed adoptions through PetPoint system.
