·Place all buys (initial, booster, re-buy and core program) based on buy strategy and adhere to the scheduled deadlines of the inventory calendar to support Spiegel’s catalog, retail, and internet businesses.

·Works directly with senior management to plan and execute merchandise financial plans and inventory levels.

·Maintains and controls all aspects of the OTB using ladder plans to accurately forecast sales and inventory turns for our multiple selling channels.

·Adheres to profitable inventory indicators such as initial order fulfillment, backorders, cancellations and overstocks for the Home and Apparel Divisions. Initial fill went from 60% (S'08) to 95% (F'08) and backorders when down by 40%.

·Recognizes potential supply issues by forecasting future backorder/cancellation problems through: Computer support tools (i.e., modeling in OTB), taking action by adjusting return rates to reflect changing trends, monitoring and maintaining backorder levels to assure compliance with Spiegel’s policies and Federal Regulations, and informing senior management of item serviceability at the time of the media redo/pickup to avoid potential low fulfillment issues.

·Utilizes the support from the Production Team on production capacity, planning, tracking, and core vendor updates.

·Maintains delivery follow-up, reviews vendor production schedule and update purchase orders ship dates accordingly to ensure accuracy in servicing our customer.

·Declares in season overstocks for clearance based on guidelines by product line and adherence to the inventory calendar schedule.

·Advises senior management of delivery delays and issues all air and late charges.

·Prepares seasonal inventory review meetings by analyze successes and failures of the past season and recommends strategies for improvements.

·Responsible for regular maintenance of inventory system assure proper allocation of merchandise (i.e. A or B allocation, FNP, CNP) and year-end obsolescence (inventory age code).

·Participates in item estimating committee meetings and is responsible for evaluating and validating all estimates by media within assigned responsible areas.

·Manages Factory Ship team on Vendor Net reporting tools and reviews status weekly with senior management.
