I was given the opportunity to work with one of my Political Science professors. I served as a research assistant to one of the Associate Professors for my department. In this role I assisted with the development of curriculum for numerous collegiate courses, assisted with departmental research efforts, assisted with the research on a National Science Foundation grant proposal, and developed research materials for future use.
I am responsible for assisting clients wit the development of websites and website content. I develop material for online publication and create content for marketing services. Additionally, I ensure proper site maintenance and construction.I also am a technician and I assist customers with IT issues and resolve their issues in a timely manner.
In my role as Apple Expert, I served as a resource for customers and other Best Buy Employees. My duties included interacting with customers, providing complete customer solutions for computing products, staying up to date with new technologies, overcoming customer objections, and creating a culture for Apple products.
This internship will focus on my skills and experience and how I can contribute to Hartsook Companies. My primary responsibilities will include research for an upcoming book publication, prospect search, client satisfaction, and donor research. I will also be assisting with the company's strategic planning initiatives and will assist in a guide creation for social media in strategic planning. I will also be assisting with web development and would also like to be at the forefront of the development of a promotional materials and a promotional video for Hartsook Companies.
The privilege to intern at the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education office was a very unique opportunity. My internship revolved around Grants and External Funding and how we could better serve the state's colleges and universities. My specific tasks included assisting with conference development, developing and updating grant resources, gain a better understanding of fundraising and grantsmanship, and research potential grant opportunities. I also had the honor to attend several events, meetings, and presentations that opened my eyes to the world of research and student involvement. This experience also allowed me to interact and meet extraordinary people who make differences everyday.
I was responsible for giving residential hall tours to potential students, their families, and VIP guests. My primary task was to recruit new students to live on campus but to also attend Oklahoma State University. I gave tours ranging from one person to crowds exceeding 250. In addition to my tour responsibilities, I also worked in the main housing administration office and the housing judicial office. My office responsibilities included basic clerical work but also included various tasks that the office needed accomplished.
My second year working for the Marketing and Conferences Division for Housing and Residential Life at Oklahoma State, I had the amazing opportunity to serve as a Conference Manager. This role was more a supervisory role and it was a great learning and growing experience for me. My duties included supervising Conference Assistants, performing crisis management, be an expert in customer relations, and the enforcement of university and departmental policies.
In my role as a Front Desk Clerk for Wentz Hall, I was tasked with numerous responsibilities. I was responsible for customer service, resident check-in/out procedures, front desk mail procedures, and also rectifying a multitude of resident concerns.
My duties for this role were knowing the policies for the university and the department. I was also tasked with camp and conference relations and this included doing duty rounds to ensure rule compliance and camper safety. I was also responsible for a level of crisis management and dealing with guest and camp issues.
One aspect of my Internship with the State Regents office was to make the Grant Resources section of the webpage to be more user-friendly and ensure it was up-to-date. I took the 250+ web links and created a PDF for easier use.
Part of my strategic plan for my position on a Regional Board of Director was to increase visibility. Part of my plan was to create a promotional video for the Region. Once I secured the funding for the equipment: I filmed, edited, and published the SWACURH Regional Promotional Video.
I was tasked with creating a video to highlight the experience at the Oklahoma Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America summer camp. The camp, Ultimate FCCLA Champion, was for high school students that wanted to get more involved with FCCLA and leadership and was hosted at Oklahoma State University.
