Cathy Gedvilas currently holds the position of Director of Corporate Communications for Sequa Corporation and its largest business unit, Chromalloy, the global leader in non-OEM replacement parts for aircraft and other large engines. She belongs to the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), a global organization of business communication professionals, which educates its members about the strategic role communication plays between a corporation and its stakeholders. Cathy Gedvilas earned the professional designation of Accredited Business Communicator (ABC) from the IABC by demonstrating a thorough knowledge and understanding of the planning, implementation, and management of strategic communication as well as the ethics of business communication. Cathy Gedvilas’ ABC designation resulted from years of hard work in a series of positions of increasing responsibility and visibility. Educated in Phoenix, Arizona, at Arizona State University, Cathy Gedvilas earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. Her first significant experience in corporate communications came in the late 1990s, when she joined Honeywell International and Phelps Dodge Corporation, a major mining and manufacturing power. After two years as a communications representative with Phelps, Cathy Gedvilas accepted an offer from Honeywell International, Inc., and worked for the company in several roles, including Manager of Internal Communications and Manager of External Communications. Cathy Gedvilas left Honeywell in mid-2005 to manage the internal and external communications of Landmark Aviation/StandardAero, a full-service aviation services company with operations in Europe, Canada, and the United States. She returned to Honeywell in 2008 as Media Relations Manager. Cathy Gedvilas assumed her current position with Sequa Corp. in 2009, bringing strong experience not only in her chosen profession, but also in the operations of several major industries, including aerospace, aviation, and energy.
