A marketing and public relations professional, Catherine Burkel comes to her work with a strong academic background and extensive practical experience. She currently serves as a public relations assistant in Mobile, Alabama, applying her skills in advertising, sales, and market research. Catherine Burkel has worked with a number of leading Alabama marketing firms both during and subsequent to her undergraduate studies, building an experience base that places her in a competitive early-career position.Catherine Burkel holds two Bachelor's degrees from The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. There, she earned degrees in both Advertising and Psychology, with a minor in Darkroom and Digital Photography. Achieving Dean's List standing for her Psychology studies, she combines this theoretical knowledge with marketing experience in order to establish a unique outlook on consumer behavior.While at The University of Alabama, Catherine Burkel completed several marketing internships. Most recently, she served as Assistant Media Planner with Totalcom Marketing, interfacing with agency staff and clients to maintain account communication. She also conducted extensive market research, obtaining and analyzing information through a variety of regional and local media. Prior to this, she completed an Advertising Sales internship at Touchdown Alabama magazine, where she participated in the design of media kits and the creation of promotional advertising.Catherine Burkel had previously worked with promotional advertising during a summer internship at Field Source Marketing and through a marketing internship at ESPN Regional. She also developed marketing and promotional skills through her university coursework, which included media planning and advertising campaigns. In addition, because of her studies in photography and copy writing, she developed her ability not only to distribute advertisements but also to create them. She now seeks to apply her skills in the city of Birmingham, Alabama.
