 During this fellowship, I researched the intersectionality of race and museums from a variety of angles including reparations, self-censoring, and narratives.

I presented my paper "The Need for Diversity and Inclusion When Developing a Narrative" and talked about the importance of having different voices and varied representation at the table (and truly listening and incorporating their ideas) when developing a narrative for a museum exhibit.

Association of African American Museums Annual Conference | Using Technology to Remember the “King” of Jazz and How Your Museum Can Do the Same!

We presented on the integration of technology into museum spaces. We highlighted museum theories directed at explaining the importance of technology in the museum space, discussed the practical approaches to adding technology in museum spaces at Alabama State University, as well as had a brainstorming session where those in attendance could develop ways in which their institution could incorporate technology.

Society of Alabama Archivists Annual Conference | The Bama State Experience

Presented at the Society of Alabama Archivists' annual meeting. The presentation consisted of outlining the digital learning tool titled "The Bama State Experience." We discussed the reason the tool was created, the hurdles that the team had to overcome, the collaboration across departments, and the future expansion of the tool as it relates to integration in classrooms.

Say it Loud University | ASU and the Civil Rights Movement

Education Like Me and Alabama State University

I presented information to a group of children, ages 6-13, on Alabama State University's role in the Civil Rights Movement. The presentation involved a short (10 minute) lecture style beginning, a song learning section, a march through the campus and ended with a question and answer session with a civil rights activist and ASU alumna.
