I brought in client business from other EU territories notably NL - increasing overall company revenue by 300%

Education

Msc

University of Westminster

Worked part-time on my degree at University of Westminster while working as IT Systems manager for a businessman's club in London, Berkley Square.

I used the knowledge gained on the degree course to design and implement a client relationship management and booking system for the club. The system kept track of client details, and allowed staff to book rooms and custom meals for clients through a visual graphic interface showing a floor plan of the club's facilities.

System was built using Borland's Delphi language - and Object Oriented Pascal variant, with SQL Database storage system.

Although designed as temporary system on a very limited budget - the software was still in use by the club 5 years later when I received a request to overview and update the software. Prior commitments meant that I did not have the time to dedicate to full overview and re-write of the code - however, taking into account the needs and budget available to the client I did propose a new open-source based architecture to provide greater stability and scalability.

Marketing and Communication Strategy

Joined MarketPepper as a majority stakeholder following the departure of one of the founding members. The company focus was primarily on Marketing strategy, branding and communication for small-med businesses.    Over the following years I worked on marketing strategy for a number of clients in diverse business sectors such as food retail, software, financial services, publishing and sports.    As these clients were often small businesses and startups my work included brand positioning, strategy, image design and general sales content (logos, brochures, web-based communication etc.)   Before working for MarketPepper, previous experience included working closely with the marketing department at WebMethods, adapting press releases and communication materials for the french market.

WebMethods integration architecture

Originally hired as the first European consultant for webMethods pre-IPO. I helped roll-out implementations at major accounts in the technology, banking an retail sectors.    I rapidly gained expertise in the visual programming language 'flow' as well as an in-depth knowledge of the architecture of the webMethods Integration Server.   Further projects involved integrating with advanced back-end systems such as SAP, and implementing data mappings for various electronic exchange standards such as EDI, RosettaNet, and many XML-based business transaction standards. I also worked on a number of projects extending the existing functionality of the webMethods platform for clients requiring specific, non-standard, functionality, such as integration of proprietary file standards.     Following the merger of webMethods with Active Software I moved to France to ensure knowledge transition of the webMethods B2B Integration architecture which was to become the base for the Integration platform in the following years. I was able to gain further knowledge of the Active software 'broker' technology and publish/subscribe architecture.   Recently I was involved in a major webMethods migration and integration project in the Netherlands at a major client in the retail sector. The project involved managing the migration of one of the largest European webMethods implementations in terms of numbers of integration servers used.     I was also assigned to the team integrating a 3rd party - webMethods based - solution for managing strategic pricing predictions based on real-time sales data throughout the client's Europe-wide operations.
