About Carolyn Koos

An educational administrator with an extensive background in school administration, Dr. Koos is a self-described systems and strategic thinker who is competitive and creative. She has administrative licensures in the states of New Jersey, Illinois, and Iowa and enjoys the challenges of running a school district. A community-minded individual who has served on city council, she is an accomplished academic leader who places the highest value on student achievement. Dr. Koos has provided leadership as Chief Administrator of Marquette Academy in inner city Davenport, Iowa and as Principal of Costa Catholic Academy in Galesburg, Illinois, and spent five years in Ottawa, Illinois, as a Chief Administrator and Principal in the Deer Park School District.

Since ending her undergraduate work in 1981, Carolyn Koos has continued to strengthen her professional qualifications through continued education. In addition to a master of science in education and an education specialist degree completed at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, she pursued graduate courses in policy and leadership studies at the University of Iowa. She has also completed an executive MBA program at Lansbridge University in Canada, and earned a master of management degree from Colorado’s American Graduate School of Management. Additionally, Carolyn Koos holds a PhD in education administration from Illinois State University.
