Apprentice

Information Technology Associates Program

DePauw University's Program of Distinction ITAP, an acronym for Information Technology Associate's Program, allows students to integrate technology into the liberal arts education. As a first year member, I am being trained in various areas of technology in preparation to be a technology intern in my continuing years.

"ITAP is a highly selective internship program providing a singular experience that blends a traditional liberal arts education with cutting-edge experiential learning in an academic environment. In addition to technological skills, ITAP internships enable the building of skills that are part of a liberal arts education, such as critical thinking, analytical reasoning, problem solving, and communication skills among others. ITAP is not a work study program." - From the DePauw ITAP Website

I supervised children between the grades of Kindergarten and Fifth Grade in various field trips around Indianapolis and in daily activities. I worked directly with Third Grade students as a mentor and leader, occasionally working as a facilitator of conflict resolution.
