After thirty-three years of teaching music, Mrs. Carol Broos recently retired from teaching. She has taught various grades from Kindergarten through eighth grade,  Website won “Best in the Web” as the best student-centered site for 2007 by Digital Education. “Leader of the Year – 2007 - Finalist” and a “Star Educator” from Discovery Education, 2008 Golden Apple Fellow, "Who's Who in American Women." IMEA's Mary Hoffman Award (Music Teacher of the Year) Her blog is used across the country for important music and technology news. She started musictechieteachers.ning for music technology teachers to network and share. She developed a website: a teacher-friendly website where teachers have posted their work they have completed at her presentations.. She traveled to Japan on a Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund teacher scholarship in October 2006. She has published an article for Technology Institute of Music Educators (Spring 2007, Vol. 9, No, 2) titled “GarageBand, not GarbageBand.” She has presented at the Illinois Music Educators Convention (IMEA), the National Technology Institute of Music Educators (TI:ME), Ohio Music Educators Conference (OMEA), Michigan Music Educators Conference (MMEA), and Illinois Technology Conference for Educators (IL-TCE), and Illinois Educational Technology Conference (IETA) National Music Conference (MENC), the National Educational Computing Conference (NECC) and Midwest Band Clinic.
