Continued analyzing large sample sets using GC/TOF. Trained and managed all student interns in sample preparation and laboratory etiquette. Typically managed about 4-6 interns weekly. Reduced data sets for clients.

2013 - 2014

Junior Specialist

West Coast Metabolomics Center

Analyzed many  samples using GC/TOF. Ran about 10-40 samples a day per instrument, running from 1-3 instruments at a time. Performed GC/TOF maintenance such as, but not limited to, cutting and changing the columns, replacing broken filaments, reprogramming the autosampler, and cleaning the injector. Constantly checking chromatograms to ensure proper data acquisition.

Made solvents used for sample extraction. Extracted many different types of samples, ranging from plasma to plants to human tissue, for different platforms such as GC/TOF and LC/QTOF. Kept chemical inventory.
