Unqualified Lunch Time Nursery Assistant

I have been working as a member of JBD recruitment's nursery staff  since  October 2015, being a temporary nursery assistant at lunch time.  My responsibilities were  following:

  • Responsible for ensuring that the children’s environment is safe and hygienic, and report any areas of concern to the Room Supervisor
  • Supervising  children's play time
  • Talking to and interacting with the children, keeping a watchful eye on the children's behaviour, encouraging shy children to participate and maintaining discipline.
  • Helping the nursery nurses to serve lunch
  • Supervise children at lunch time; clean the room after
  • Make beds for children and put them to sleep
  •  Engaging children in learning and play activities

I am looking after two boys, aged 22 months  and 6 years , doing light housework too.  The main responsibilities are the following:

  • Getting the boys ready for school and nursery.
  • Light housework around the house.
  • Changing nappies and cooking, at times.
  • Playing with them, serving dinner and preparing them for sleep.
  • Promoted language development skills through reading and storytelling.
  • Tried to implement some of the EYFS principles in the toddler's development.
