About Carlton J. Essex

Was born in Clovis New Mexico on January 3, 1984.  I am married with five children and enjoy spending time with family. Have always taken great pride in working hard at my job and everything I do.  My employer can always rely on me showing up early and if required or needed working holidays and weekends is not a problem.  I would love the opportunity to work for Southwest Cheese, if given the opportunity will not disappoint.  Thank you.

Bnsf Railway


Railroad Conductor and Switchman

Responsible for the building and transportation of intermodal and freight trains, as well military vehicles and hazardous materials.  Annual hazmat, safety, HR, hearing and vision testing have been completed and maintained since starting job in January of 2004. 

City of Clovis


Signal Maintainer level 2.

Maintaining traffic signals using computer signing software to make and repair traffic signs.  Took highway safety classes, signal maintaining and operating, received level 2 qualification.  Used bucket trucks, fork lifts, power tools, and learned a lot of electrical skills, as well as how to work with others as a team and communicate with other departments to get what ever task was given not just completed but completed safely and correctly.  Being a city employee required wearing a uniform never being late and working as hard as possible to keep things running smoothly and safely.

United States Marine Core


Corporal United States Marine

Enrolled in the Marines after high school graduation, went into the active reserves after completing basic training and combat training where I learned discipline, obedience, responsibility, teamwork, weapon training, and the importance of staying physically and mentally aware at all times.  Was taught hazmat and first aid care, completed motor transport training and became a logistics vehicle system operated as well as operating five and seven ton military vehicles, hum-vie and tandem trailers.  I believe serving in the military was a great experience and honor, I know that it made me a better and more confident, successful individual.


Clovis High School


High School Diploma

Attended and graduated from Clovis High School, where I participated in FFA and agriculture program.  Learned how to weld, raise and take care of livestock. Graduated on the honor roll with a 3.75 grade point average.
