Carl Rheuban is chief operating officer of KeyFlame Energy Advisers. KeyFlame is a leading advisory firm on torrefaction processing. Mr. Rheuban is a technology and project development consultant on a multitude of torrefaction process plants throughout the world in various stages of planning, development, fabrication and installation. Torrefaction is a process to convert wood and other biomass materials into torrefied pellets that are a clean renewable fuel with low ash and low sulfur that is used to replace coal at coal fired power plants.

1. Drafted the California Limited Partnership Act. 2. Represented Clarence Chance for wrongful incarceration of 17 years in prison for a crime for which he was completely innocent. Chance received $5 million, the largest personal injury settlement in history from the City of Los Angeles.

First company in history to purchase mortgages from Banks and Savings & Loans and pool the mortgages into mortgaged backed securities. Founded the company and the concept. Supervised all aspects of setting up the program and the operations. Assembled 200 banks and savings & loans as seller servicers to originate and service mortgages for the program. This was the first company to complete a transaction of this nature in 1979.

Real estate specialist Carl Rheuban possesses over 40 years experience in the private sector. Mr. Rheuban founded the energy and real estate advisory firm Rheuban Partners in 1994, and he currently serves as Managing Director for the firm. In addition to his expert knowledge of real estate trends and opportunities, Mr. Carl Rheuban is also an accomplished attorney, educator, author, and financier. Carl Rheuban is the inventor of mortgage-backed securities and conceived of the revolutionary practice in 1978 while acting as Chairman of the Conventional Mortgage Corporation in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Rheuban also cultivated sharp public policy experience while drafting the California Limited Partnership Act at the request of the California Bar Association in concert with other legal, civic, and business leaders. Carl Rheuban is also chief operating officer of KeyFlame Energy Advisers. KeyFlame is a leading advisory firm on torrefaction processing. Mr. Rheuban is a technology and project development consultant on a multitude of torrefaction process plants throughout the world in various stages of planning, development, fabrication and installation. Following his conviction, Mr. Chance had been a prisoner for over 17 years. Carl Rheuban worked tirelessly to see that justice was delivered, and Clarence Chance was awarded a $5 million personal injury settlement, the largest awarded by the City of Los Angeles at that time. A man of ideas and intellectual curiosity, Carl Rheuban excelled as a Law Professor at the Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, California. For four years, he challenged and motivated his students and engendered critical thinking in future lawyers. In his free time, Carl Rheuban enjoys keeping active. He rides off-road motorcycles and goes paragliding and scuba diving. An avid magician, Carl Rheuban is a Life Member of the Academy of Magical Arts and Sciences and a member in good standing with the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
