Overall responsibility for the growth strategy and profitability of our firm. Also responsible for all regulatory and compliance matters. Since being appointed CEO of VectorGlobal, have increased sales 240% over four years, expanded our presence from two to over 10 countries within our region, and expanded our product base to include an asset management unit, a commodities trading operation, and an insurance unit, all of this during a time of major financial and market turmoil as well as one of the worst economic downturns in modern history.

Was the Region Head in charge of the Private Banking business of American Express Bank International for Latin America for approximately 6 years. Primary responsibility was the hiring, training, coaching and motivating for high performance a sales force of 39 relationship managers throughout the region. Increased our sales force fourfold and revenue by 200%, from a base of under $30 million to $65 million annually. Also penetrated a number of new markets in Central America and the Caribbean.

Senior Portfolio manager for a leading asset management group in the South Florida region. Managed a group of three Emerging Markets and High Yield Fixed Income mutual funds. Ensured performance above comparable indices and peer group. Generated Alpha through exhaustive research on all possible credits in the EM high yield universe. Two of the funds I managed won best in class awards by Latin Finance and Lipper for three years in a row. Total assets under management reached $1.6 billion before my retirement in 1999.

Veteran financial professional Carlos Gadala-Maria possesses 20 years experience in the industry. Starting his career as a Financial Analyst, Carlos Gadala-Maria soon advanced to Senior Portfolio Manager for Americas Trust Bank in 1993. For six years, he oversaw three groups of emerging markets and handled high yield, fixed income mutual funds. For three consecutive years, Carlos Gadala-Maria earned Best in Class awards from LatinFinance and Lipper for the performance of two funds he managed. Before retiring in 1999, he had supervised more than $1.6 billion of total assets.

After retiring from American Trust Bank, Carlos Gadala-Maria continued his career at American Express Bank International as Senior Director. From 1999 to 2007, he operated as the region head of private banking for Latin America. During his tenure as Senior Director, Carlos Gadala-Maria expanded company personnel and increased revenue by 200 percent. He oversaw the hiring, training, and compliance of a high performing sales force, and he maintained relations and communication between 39 regional managers. Under his leadership, American Express Bank International reached new markets in Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America.

At present, Carlos Gadala-Maria serves as the Chief Executive Officer and President of VectorGlobal WMG, a worldwide securities broker with a strong presence in the United States, Switzerland, and several Latin American countries. Carlos Gadala-Maria has used his experience in the industry to expand operations and increase sales 240 percent since his appointment in 2007.
