My 10 years in soccer has lead me to love and thrive in a team environment. Collaboratively achieving goals as a unit is amazing. I am also self--motivated and can work independently.
My four years in at Camosun College challenged me with the creation of many business plans focused of a variety of products and services. Included the full creation of a theoretical sports facility.
Set up and take down of all Camosun Chargers Volleyball and Basketball games through the 2012,2013 and 2014/2015 seasons. Built an environment to allow coaches and athletes to perform to the best of their ability. Tasks included managing a team of staff to ensure all items were complete before game time. I also was in charge of taking statistics using a computer program called CyberSports.
In a team environment I was responsible for the lives of 15-40 children on a daily basis. I created an area where children could be safe whilst having fun at the same time. I provided excellent role modeling to my campers to motivate them to be accepting and caring of one another. As a side note this took excellent communication skills not only with children aged 5-12 but also with the children s parents. This job also involved establishing and fostering a healthy relationship with colleagues, supervisors, children and parents.
I took charge of the facility operations component involved in the 2014/2015 PACWest Volleyball Provincials hosted by Camosun College. I used my technological skills to create a 3 dimensional layout of our venue to show case to my bosses. I developed signage and promotional materials used in the pre-event marketing. Attending weekly meetings to discuss progress and receive feedback. I also was able to gain experience interviewing coaches and athletes on Sport Canada T.V.
Maintained clean and sterile environment in a fast paced coffee shop. Prepared food and drinks to customers with an enthusiastic and positive attitude. Had a list of tasks to complete each shift which included financial, material, and business organization.
