Fisher Investments - Client Programs
I am an avid lover of the outdoors being raised in Montana with the boundless experiences it has to offer. I grew up riding horses and carried this passion through adulthood with getting the opportunity to ride for the Montana State University IHSA equestrian team as well as be apart of their driving team club. I have rafted the Grand Canyon privately, been a passionate runner for years, and camp as often as I am able to. I enjoy pushing myself to the limits and constantly learning knew experiences. I also enjoy keeping up on fashion, sewing, and using creativity as an outlet for my curiosity. I am a career driven individual with a passion for achievement and a desire to grow.
I am persuing my bachelor of science in business administration and expect to graduate in the spring of 2016.
In my role as a Junior Associate at Fisher Investments I was able to be apart of an Internship program in the Client Programs department. In my position I was able to speak and help clients on a daily basis while also helping our department in other aspects such as helping organize materials for our events throughout the United States. While being apart of the team I was also able to recreate current training material to further help the department in years to come.
I received an internship opportunity with Energy Events which is a Vancouver based company that creates and hosts local running events. We most recently hosted the Vancouver USA marathon and put on approximately twenty five events through out the year. I help in setting up, making sure the event run smoothly, all participants are happy, and am learning the ropes for what goes behind event planning and execution.
As a clothing model for Apricot Lane Boutique I was responsible for helping the online sales of the stores clothing. I worked with the manager to help relate our clothes to our target audience and assist in the appeal of the latest trends. We carefully placed clothing together to connect to our customers and further sales. I also left this position in my move to Portland, Oregon.
I was a nanny for a family with a three month old daughter. My responsibilities were to manage the house while also watching their dog and run errands when needed. I became very close with the family and enjoyed the flexibility it offered with my other job and school. It helped me stay active throughout the day and required me to constantly multitask. I left this position in my move to Portland, Oregon.
The program that I worked under is a college oriented program offered only during the the summer months between school semesters and to students who meet the qualifications. My responsibilities were to work on projects as presented in a group atmosphere. As students we aided in general upkeep, repaired equipment, and assisted operations when needed. I worked extended hours to meet project deadlines and to help maintain the every day routine.
The position of assisting an Ophthalmologist was presented to me by the family member of a current employer and was only a summer internship which is why it was so short. My duties as an assistant to the doctor were to clean and sterilize surgical equipment. I conducted visual field tests, eye examinations, and color vision tests to help diagnose eye diseases including Glaucoma and Macular Degeneration.
My Responsibilities as a brand representative were to make sure all customers were greeted upon arrival to ascertain what each of their wants and needs were. I answered phone calls, kept up-to-date knowledge of sales and promotions, and addressed any concerns all to better assist our customers. I also participated in physical inventory counts when it was necessary and handled shipment when it arrived.
While being on the Montana State equestrian team I received a lot of opportunities to volunteer. I did a lot of volunteering for our sponsoring arena which included tearing down and setting up for events that were held annually or for any of the shows that we hosted at home. I also volunteered to work the career fairs the school hosts to help share our team and our passions with other interested students. Since recently moving to Portland I have started to get involved with the local running community by being able to volunteer for the rock and roll half marathon and am continuing to branch out and share in the experiences that I love and helping others enjoy them as well.
