I am a skilled, energetic and passionate educator with a diverse background of vocational experience and community involvement. I have experience working in college preparatory schools with high ESL populations. I enjoy getting to know my students, building programs that suit their particular needs, and helping them push themselves to increase their capacity as learners.
I gained certification and training to teach both AP English courses. These courses, along with my publications and yearbook duties, really challenged me to grow professionally. Each course has required me to motivate students, to challenge themselves and to practice critical analysis, evaluation, communication, and collaboration. In addition, I am Google Certified.
Trained in Miami by the College Board in order to implement the AP Seminar course (part of the AP Capstone Diploma program). This course focuses on identifying, evaluating, creating and communicating arguments using the QUEST Inquiry model (Question, Understand, Evaluate, Synthesize, Transform/Transmit), and seeks to increase student engagement and understanding of a topic through inquiry and authentic learning tasks.

Taught survey of Ancient and Modern History courses at a culturally diverse international school. Improved skills in the areas of curriculum development, assessment methods, data analysis, communication, collaborative instruction and assessment and pedagogical understanding of the inquiry process. Increased collaborative and personal use of technology in the classroom was a tool to enhance student ability to practice and acquire 21st Century Skills. Worked one on one with students who needed to improve their understanding and use of the english language in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Taught in a Structured Learning Classroom to help students acquire grade level skills and self-regulation strategies.
Responsible for 7 classrooms on 7 campuses. Time management, administration, and communication skills were developed during this year. Worked with students who displayed variety of academic, social and emotional needs in order to improve self-regulation.
Became well acquainted with embedding reading and writing skills across the content areas. Taught multiple core subjects areas; Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, Art, English Language Arts, Physical Education, and Health Education. Developed rich and ongoing relationships with students and staff. Learned the importance of being an active participant in the community life of the school.
Created and implemented organizational systems for a year round residential and recreational camping facility. Supervised the creation and implementation of camp programs and curriculum through the management and supervision of year round and part time staff, fundraising, branding, public speaking, and collaborative networking. This experience informed by my 6 years as the part time year round program director.
Currently enrolled and taking courses in the Leading for Learning program. This course provides an overview of current trends in education and focuses on the development of leadership skills in order to foster a collaborative workplace environment.

I majored in History for 3 years while taking a double minor in Political Science and Sociology before transferring into the M.Ed program.
