I am hard working, passionate about business and driven by achievement. I embrace uncertainty with a can-do attitude and strive to find creative solutions to most challenges. My strongest assets are the ability to learn quickly, deliver results and find creative solutions by thinking outside the box. On my last job, Front Desk at the Boat Hotel in Scotland, UK, I managed to turn all front-desk and reservations department-related operations paperless. As a result, the hotel not only reduced greatly the costs with paper and toners, but productivity and efficiency were highly increased. Since leaving my previous job, I started a small web retail business, Deals Express Ltd (991 8674) which I plan to run on my free time.

Rooms Intern 

Ritz-Carlton Abama, Tenerife, Spain

In my six months internship at the Ritz-Carlton Abama, a five star, luxury resort with 477 rooms in the Island of Tenerife, Spain, I had the opportunity to work as a Front Desk Agent and as a Housekeeping Supervisor. Main duties and responsibilities: 

  • Welcome the arriving guests with a genuine smile and engage with them during the check-in;
  • Engage with guests in the lobby area and try to find out any subtle preference that may lead to guest satisfaction;
  • Handle complaints and solve problems that guests may experience during their stay;
  • Take decisions that positively impact the guest’s satisfaction;
  • Assist the guests with any needs or preferences they may have;
  • Handle inter-departmental calls and answer e-mails and inquiries about the hotel;
  • Clean the rooms and public areas of the hotel within extensive and rigorous Ritz-Carlton quality standards;
  • Inspect cleaned rooms and decide if the cleaning complies with the standards;
  • Supervise and motivate housekeeping staff to follow the cleaning standards.

Grande Real Villa Itália, Cascais, Portugal 

Grande Real Villa Itália is a five star luxury hotel located in the Portuguese Riviera. I did my first internship in this hotel, in the F&B division, working in the Restaurant, Bar, Events and Room Service departments. My main responsibilities were:

  • Welcome and greet the guests arriving at the restaurant, help them have a seat and take their orders;
  • Serve food and beverages within service standards leading to the guest's satisfaction;
  • Verify, inspect and clean-up restaurant and bar material in order to ensure quality of service;
  • Prepare and serve simple drinks, cocktails and coffee drinks at the bar;
  • Engage with guests in order to ensure satisfaction with the food and service.

Tour Guide

Casa de Mateus Foundation, Vila Real, Portugal

I worked as a tour guide at Palácio de Mateus, an 18th century Baroque style house, now turned one of Portugal's most visited private museums. My role was to guide visitors through the museum, describing its historical and cultural importance. I held tours in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
