(PROJECT WAS TERMINATED IN MAY 2009 DUE TO OWNER LOSING FINANCIAL BACKING)

Challenge: Recruited as Senior Project Manager and later promoted to Project Director responsible for $135 M dollar electrical construction contract for the Fontainebleau Resort and Casino.

Budget Management/Cost Control:Composed, estimated and developed pricing updates for project for various stages of design and construction provided value-engineering alternatives for cost savings to the original design. Ranked in the top 1% of Project Directors in the nation to successfully manage a $135M electrical project. The owner, as a result of losing financial backing, stopped the project at which time Conti Electric was on schedule and under budget.

Leadership/Team Building:Assisted and helped create a safe environment for the project site where crew members could work without fear of not going home at the end of the day. Project staff was given defined responsibilities to develop time schedules and material project costs for areas of construction under their immediate control. Established time line for delivery of reports for upper management and held all members accountable.

Contract and Change Management: Submitted and received approval of over $35M in change orders for the Garage, Ballroom and Convention Center. Changes were for systems changes, additions of controls, changes in security and surveillance and modification to the power requirements to include emergency/standby power.

UNDERGROUND SITE POWER

Challenge: Establish acceptable estimated cost for contract to install underground medium voltage power distribution for the complete site.

Budget Management/Cost Control:Developed and presented to ownership management team with the pricing for a complete system to meet and/or exceed requirements per contract documents. Provided submittals of excavation equipment to be used, concrete formulas for encasement of duct banks, samples of splices and terminations for manholes and distribution gear connections and 750 MCM - 15 KVA Medium Voltage Cable samples to include specification information from manufacturers.

Leadership/Team Development: Created time requirements and schedule of durations for grid excavation and coordinated with other trades. Implemented installation requirements within manufacture specifications. Organized crew size and requirements for installation of cable. Resolved field delays of installation due and oversights of others.

Contract Approval and Change Management:Approved subcontractor proposals for work, reviewed and approved subcontractor's written contract. Received and forwarded pricing for cable purchase, terminations and splicing material and 6" PVC conduit purchase order. Estimated and implemented $12M change request for design modifications made by ownership.

Convention Center @ City Center

Challenge: Establish acceptable budget for the Convention Center to be built on site.

Budget Management/Cost development:Directly involved in developing unit pricing for estimate & ROM's during design stage of project. Provided owner with cost saving ideas on theatrical lighting, control systems, life safety and smoke removal, security and surveillance system, lighting, outlet locations and power distribution for Convention Center. Estimated price at that time was $80 Million Dollars.

Challenge: Establish and present to ownership for contract approval an acceptable estimate and scope of work for a competitive hard dollar contract.

Budget Management/Cost Control: Controlled the development of a competitive estimate for hard dollar project. Managed high-rise, high-end time-share condominium within walking distance of the Las Vegas Strip. Developed, implemented and purchased a manufactured prefab system. Standardized installation of over 90% of installations reducing labor costs.

Leadership/Team Building: Streamlined installation of prefab systems in a combined force with field management simplifying installation.

Contract Approval and Change Management:Obtained pricing quotes and approved subcontractor change request. Approved purchase orders for all major items; lighting, power distribution equipment, emergency generator, lightning protection, fire alarm, security/surveillance, and devices.

Value Engineering:Estimated and provided written description of proposed value engineering suggestions while maintaining the design intent of the project. Succeeded in developing a working relationship with owner in processing acceptance of proposals without delay.

Palms Casino & Hotel Tower II

Challenge: Establish and present to general contractor an acceptable competitive hard dollar bid for award of contract.

Estimating Management Control:

Defined, developed and guided an estimating team in providing a competitive hard dollar bid to be awarded the contract for the second tower at the Palms Hotel. Obtained and awarded a contract for $12M. Finalized pricing quotes for all major items; lighting, power distribution equipment, emergency generator, lightning protection, fire alarm and security/surveillance devices.

ANECO ELECTRICAL, Rivera Beach FL. 1999 - 2001

PROJECT MANAGER/ESTIMATOR

Challenge: Recruited for management of the largest project under contract by ANECO Electrical ensuring that the project and estimate would prove to be successful and profitable.

Budget Management/Cost Control: Controlled the development of a competitive estimate for hard dollar project.Managed 1,400,000 sq. ft. mail with a $12.5 M contract. Implemented labor installation standards, labor installation units and charted results for upper management.

Leadership/Team Builder: Identified, generated and instructed field leadership on systematized structured installations. Accomplished and received a combined field acceptance of labor installation standards.

Contract Approval and Change Management: Approved and negotiated with subcontracts and suppliers for purchases of material. Estimated and detailed scope proposals for changes in contract to general contractor.

DYNALECTRIC COMPANY, Las Vegas, NV.1988 - 1999

PROJECT MANAGER/ESTIMATOR

Mirage Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas NV.

Challenge #1: Chief Estimator for the price development of the casino in its entirety to include back of house and common areas, non-gaming public areas, convention areas, tenant areas, warehousing areas, restaurants and kitchens exterior lighting, power distribution system including emergency back generators, security and surveillance systems, CCTV and paging, change order requests, exterior lighting, volcano security lighting and power. Contract value $42 million dollars.

Estimating Management Control:

Defined, developed and guided an estimating team in providing a competitive ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) for the Mirage Hotel & Casino. Finalized pricing quotes for all major items; Lighting, Power Distribution Equipment, Emergency Generator, Lightning Protection, Fire Alarm and Security/Surveillance devices.

Challenge #2: Design, estimated, purchased and develop an approved installation of a required security and surveillance that meet or exceed Nevada Gaming requirements.

Design, Planning, Development, Engineering: Solicited and consulted with designers in order to develop plans and designs from industry leaders around the United States. Presented to owner's representative an interpretation of what was received from the industry leaders in a proposal developed and identified to satisfy the Nevada Gaming requirements for gaming establishments.Implementation of design, development of drawing and procurement of equipment proceeded with the execution of a GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) contract.

Budget Management/Cost Control:Pricing guidelines were established and followed during construction. Implemented labor installation standards, labor installation units and charted results for upper management. Negotiated estimate received from suppliers of material and equipment keeping pricing within estimated budgets. Ownership required a minimum of 3 bid prices on all proposals for an $8.3 M project.

Leadership/Team Builder: Identified, generated and instructed field leadership on systematized installations. Leadership style was established where the members were accountable to meet project goals. Empowered team members to accept definite areas of responsibilities, confirming schedules, challenging dates of completion, and expediting reports.
