Business Development & Recruitment Coordinator

National Rehabilitation Hospital

The Business Development, Marketing and Recruitment Department focuses its energy on customer service, growing our services, and recruiting future team members. I have been involved in converting our application process to an entirely web based system and streamlining the onboarding process. We have been highly successful in taking a marketing strategy in our recruitment efforts, eliminating a large number of vacancies during the time our department has been involved in recruitment.

Additionally, our department is involved with opening new sites and developing relationships with referral sources. I focus most of my time on managing the recruitment process and directing the efforts of three additional team members in our nine person department.

About Me

I currently work in the Business Development, Marketing and Recruitment Department at the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH). The department focuses on marketing the network's services to the Baltimore / Washington, DC physician community as well as recruiting both clinical and administrative team members. The NRH Medical Rehabilitation Network spans the greater Baltimore / Washington DC metro area and includes a free standing physical rehabilitation hospital, 30+ outpatient centers and an Acute Care department in the Washington Hospital Center. These facilities are part of MedStar Health, which includes 8 other hospitals in Baltimore / Washington, DC as well as other diversified services.

In addition, I spend a great amount of time traveling to university campuses around the country presenting to Greek organizations on topics of risk management, alcohol education, recruitment, and other leadership related topics through my affiliation with CAMPUSPEAK and Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity.

Originally from Ohio, I received my Bachelor's degree in Physics from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. While there, I served in a number of leadership roles including President of my fraternity and Executive VP of the Interfraternity Council. I spent one summer during college bicycling across the country for Push America, a philanthropic organization benefiting people with disabilities.

Following undergrad, I spent a year traveling the country as a Leadership Consultant for Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. My travel territory included North and South Carolina as well as Washington and Oregon. I also participated in expansions at the University of Illinois and Michigan State University.

After my experience as a consultant, I settled in Washington, DC, where I worked in marketing and business development roles for the National Rehabilitation Hospital and as a Technical Services Manager for a local trade association, GAMA. I then decided I wanted to pursue an MBA full time and moved to southern California to attend UC Irvine and UCLA. During that time I focused in Marketing and spent a semester studying abroad in Budapest, Hungary.

Immediately following graduation, I returned to Washington, DC, and to National Rehabilitation Hospital, first as a consultant and now as a full time team member.
