Loss Prevention Associate
My duties while working at kmart varied because of the fact that my department changed twice. When first hired my job description was cashier. I rang purchases and interacted with customers. Soon after my department changed to layaway. I rang items, lifted, carried, stacked and moved slight, heavy and bulky items multiple times a day. I also interacted with customers and provided customer service. Soon after my department changed to loss prevention. Here I apprehended shoplifters, detained them, processed theft paper work, provided customer service, kept watch on all high priced items and made sure they were stored properly. I worked to make sure the store was a safe environment for customers as well as associates. I worked to lessen the amount of shrink in the store as well.
