An experienced business administrator who holds a bachelor of arts in economics from Harvard University, Brian Mullaney served as senior vice president and creative director of the New York City advertising agency J. Walter Thompson before establishing his own Clio-winning high-tech marketing firm with his partner, Michael Schell. While serving as chief executive officer of this firm, he cofounded Smile Train, a charitable organization that provides surgical services to repair the cleft palates of children in poor and developing countries. Brian Mullaney went on to serve as president and chief executive officer of Smile Train for more than a decade.
Today, Mr. Mullaney serves as chief executive officer of WonderWork, an international medical charity that provides life-saving surgeries for children who suffer from clubfoot, blindness, and serious burns. WonderWork currently operates in 60 different countries, where to date it has provided more than 100,000 free surgeries. Under Brian Mullaney’s direction, the charity is experiencing a growth rate that average 50 percent on an annual basis.
