I graduated with honours in 2010 from the Dublin School of Architecture in DIT Bolton St in Dublin, Ireland. I'm eager to further my architectural experience & development in an office, and am willing move abroad to do so.
My main architectural experience was in Arthur Gibneys and Partners Architects, where I worked on hotel projects such as Kilternan Country Club hotel in association with Heneghan Peng and the extension of the Russell Court Hotel on Harcourt St, as well as in health, doing feasability studies for the Barchester Nursing home group. Here I gained familiarity with the building regulations, namely part B (Fire) and Part M (Access for All)
I also worked with the National Monuments Service, which gave me a new appreciation and interest in the built heritage in my country. This greatly influenced my final year thesis project – to design a local museum for and in respect of the historic city of Kilkenny.
Since graduating in 2010, I've been working on residential projects including an extension to a cottage in an area of high visual amenity in Skerries Co. Dublin, and a house constructed of rammed earth investigating sustainable energy in Kilkenny. I've also been working in the family business providing heating and ventilation equipment to the construction industry, which has aided my understanding of building services. I have working knowledge of Vray, Photoshop and Indesign but am particularly proficient on AutoCad and Sketchup, and can efficiently work to tight deadlines in producing drawing packages,
While I am aware that post graduate work is still a big learning curve, I am eager to learn and continue the momentum I’ve taken with me from my final year of college into my working career.
