Greet and register all patients; notify medical staff of their arrival. Process daily charge tickets for incoming patients and register patients into Allscripts and IDX. Verify current demographics and insurance information and status. Photocopies and inputs patient demographic information, insurance data and all other information into computer system. Process all credit card payments using a program called Pay Junction.
Interacts with patients regarding complaints for effective and immediate response and resolution. Refer to PSR/Office branch manager as appropriate also supporting the Call Center by providing effective customer service to patients, vendors, insurance companies and other medical facilities.
Use appropriate company procedures, referring doctors and correct protocols for writing referrals. Schedule referral appointments with primary care providers and/or specialists. Assists and completes all discharge paperwork as well as collecting appropriate co payments and charges the patient at time of service. Responsible for informing patients of any overdue or delinquent accounts and amount currently owed. And attempts to collect payment at the time of visit.
Knowledge of all ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT coding to ensure correct charging and posting to each patients individual account. View batch for appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes, balances the batch and completes batch control tickets at the end of each shift change. Screen and route patient calls to other departments efficiently, ensuring accurate registration, appointment scheduling and follow-up appointment scheduling in database. Assist other members of the PCR and Call Center departments as needed.
Collected blood and urine specimens while using venous and micro techniques. Maintained the order of draw according to the laboratories policies and procedures. Labeled, centrifuged, split and freeze specimens as required by test order. Performed bleeding time procedures and verified specimen collection information directly from specimen to compare with patients information.
Communicated with patients and staff to provide information regarding status of orders. Maintained the required temperatures for each specimen as well as separated, stamped and packed each specimen for the state courier to pick up in designated area. When biohazard containers were scheduled to be picked up I had to make sure they were ready to be disposed of and replaced. At the end of each day inventory was stocked. Each work area was picked up and wiped down thoroughly for the upkeep of the next business day.

Complete all required general logs, medication administration records, financial logs, progress notes and flow charts as required.
