Department Pembroke Pines Charter School Microsystems Technician Job Description: Providing desktop and end user support Basic duties for the Pembroke Pines Technology Services Department(TSD) include: Assist in managing systems across five campuses, including 30 servers and over 2, 000 workstations setup across multiple VLANs. Personally responsible for providing customer service for all network users from one campus, with a total of 300 workstations. Manage, maintain, and repair computers, printers, and devices. Add and remove users from Active Directory. Manage computers and OU's in Active Directory. Create, configure, and maintain Group Policy Objects best suited for school environments. Keep current software up-to-date with new software version releases, which is also managed and deployed through Group Policy. Setup and configure Windows Server 2008 R2-2012 R2. Skilled with configuring Windows Deployment Server(WDS). Maintain imaging server with up-to-date drivers, applications, and operating systems. Personally created installation image for newly acquired mobile cart laptops using WDS. Set up five mobile labs across two campuses, which included imaging, updating, and wiring up 150 education series laptops. All laptops meet computer-basedstatetesting requirements. Assisted in the acquisition and configuration setup of over 300 chromebooks for students use. All chromebooks are managed through the Google Apps Admin console to ensure the integrity of the device as well as the proper security protocol for students. Carry-out daily tasks and tickets assigned by help desk ticketing system in a timely and professional manner. Communicate with school staff, administrators, and teachers to make sure any open issues are resolved. Provide in-house training for school staff on the use of Google Apps for Education. Training is also provided for new staff members on logon procedures for both desktop and Google Mail.
