About Brett Podoski

Brett Podoski graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s in biology and began his successful career in the food science sector shortly thereafter. Later earning a master of science in food science and technology from the University of Florida, he has been working in the industry for more than two decades. A member of the Association of Food and Drug Officials and the International Association for Food Protection, he has earned numerous awards and honors over the course of his career and completed a number of additional regulatory courses offered through the FDA. Brett Podoski serves as a FSMA manager and supervisory consumer safety officer for the FDA’s Center for Food Safety & Applied Nutrition.

When he’s not busy managing staff, presenting on various food safety and preventative control topics, or reviewing scientific activities as part of his job, Mr. Podoski is a dedicated philanthropist. He supports the Little Lighthouse Foundation, and organization that provides support to children and families dealing with medical, financial, and educational hardships, and has been involved with the organization’s Hearts and Stars Gala in the past. He also supports the Slater Brothers Invitational, an event that raises funds for and awareness of skin cancer prevention, along with the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and Surfrider Foundation.
