Educational Programmer

Boys & Girls Club of Stamford

I was given the role of running the clubs summer education program. My main focus was the Immersions program. This is a science program that consist of a curriculum that is broken into 5 different course: Return to Titanic, Marine Mammals, Nautilus Live, Dolphins, and Secrets of the Gulf. All books follow a learning course and ends with a science project that goes along with the particular chapter. This program in particular consisted of about 45 kids.

  • Lead Programmer- 2 years
    • Organized and developed youth programs for kids ages 6-15. The Ripken program was my main program I coordinated, where I taught kids the importance of sports and the life lessons that go hand and hand. We also linked up with the Stamford police department for a whole summer, we set up workshops for the kids and a field trip to the actual police facility. 
  • Athletic developer- 14 months
    • For the first time ever here at the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford: I organized and ran three different seasonal sport leagues, Flag Football, Basketball, and Soccer. Each league consisted of an average of 55 kids(including non-members).

Worked one on one with children who have behavior issues. Also helped assist the class during group and individual work sessions. With my one on one I would write up daily and weekly reports, sit in on teacher parent meetings, and guide the one on one to where ever he needed to go to.
