My main interest has always been in the automotive world, wether it was cars, motorcycles or trucks.  From a young age i raced motorcycles, later moving to freestyle motocross.  I competed across Australasia, rating 4th in Australia when i was only 15.

I then moved onto drifting cars, actively competing in events at Willowbank Raceway and Archerfield Raceway for a few years.

Much of my mechanical experience is self taught, from always trying to do as much work as i can on my own vehicles to save money.

My wife and I have recently joined the Caboolture Clay Target Shooters Club, and plan to begin shooting there as soon as possible.  It is a very family oriented sport, with many supportive members.

Truck Driver, Welder, Labourer

Mackay & Sons House Removals

Working at a house removal company, many different skills are required, as well as quick thinking and problem solving skills.  I was required to do alot of ARC, and MIG welding as well as use of Oxy-Acetolene and Plasma Cutters.  I regard my welding skills as excellent, and have attended many training classes to further perfect them.

I was also required to drive an MR truck daily, but I do hold a HR licence.  I have also had alot of experience in Skid-Steer Bobcats as well as a 20t excavator.

All maintenence on these machines were performed at our storage yard, by myself, with some guidance from a very well experienced diesel fitter.  I am very interested in mechanics and vehicles in general, and only too happy to get my hands dirty fixing and maintaining them.

This was a very physically demanding job, crawling under houses, on roofs and in high temperatures, usually for at least 12 hrs a day, as well as night shifts.

Ash's Spoked Wheels

As a wheel-wright i was required to lace, straighten and build spoked wheels for motorcycles, as well as Vintage Jaguars, MG's and similar cars.

This required alot of lateral thinking, fact taking and careful work, so as not to damage the expensive rims, hubs, etc.

A large part of my job was also Sandblasting, Painting and polishing assorted metals, as well as braising and soldering more intricate parts.

We also built motorcycles while i was employed at Ash's, again requiring mechanical thinking as well as paitenence, common sense and dedication.

Joe Kovacs

I worked for Joe many years ago, at a motorcycle parts importer, while i was still in High School, until a few years after.

As a very well respected man in the Motorcycle Industry, i have always looked up to Joe, and am honoured to now call him a friend.
