I am looking for a paid/unpaid internship in the Charlotte-Metropolitan Area in a Fine Art Gallery/Museum or Artist's Studio. I have experience working with JS Pottery, Silver Hammer Studios, the Catawba River Artisans, the Mint Museum of Charlotte and Gaston School of the Arts. I can do anything from organizing artwork to event planning to manning the front desk. I will bring a professional and upbeat attitude to any art area as I have extensive knowledge in the experience, acquisition, and networking importance of artwork.
I am double majoring in Studio Art/Creative Writing and minoring in Art History. I have taken specific courses in Art History that would be beneficial for a museum/gallery setting such as the History of Photography, 19th Centry French Art, and High Renaissance Art. I have also taken many studio classes such as Adult Oil Painting, the study of the Figure, Advanced Drawing, Film Photography, and Printmaking.
At Queens University of Charlotte, I have been awarded over $34,000 worth of scholarships annually, including art and art history scholarships based on merit. I am a member of the Art Club, Photography Club, Dance Club, President's Club, and Phi Mu female fraternity.
I am the current president of Bella Faraasha - cultural belly dance club where I run auditions, practices, and set performances for such charities as the Alexander Youth Network, American Heart Association, and Juvenile Diabetes Fund. We are trying to set a campus-wide foundation for positive body-image and good self-worth.
