As a campus tour guide for middle- and upper-elementary school groups visiting NKU, Breanna was one of our stars. She effectively facilitated presentations about “college and college life” to our young guests and led groups of students, teachers and chaperones on lively, informative campus walks, pointing out significant points of interest and landmarks on campus, and relating personal stories to help the youngsters picture themselves as college students. While this work became routine to our tour guides, its intent is serious as it supports an NKU strategic agenda item of instilling in the minds of students at relatively early ages the desire and determination to pursue postsecondary educational opportunities.
More recently, we hired Breanna for the special project of transitioning the department’s print-based communication and promotional vehicles into web-based, new media formats. Breanna displayed creativity, persistence and resourcefulness in delivering recommendations for a website rebuild, developing an e-mail newsletter infrastructure and templates, matching web technologies to desired target audiences, creating a presence in key social media and providing a handbook of tips and techniques for social media and e-promotion maximization. Her work provided a strong foundation upon which staff has completed the transition from traditional to new media.
Breanna has background in working with nonprofit organizations, and her professional-level photography skills would be an asset to this position as well. Breanna is driven to increase her value-added qualities, as she constantly seeks to fine tune her skills and master new technologies. Her energy, creativity and work ethic would be beneficial to any organization.
